2025 Mountains Of Opportunity

April 14th-15th, 2025

Our 2025 Annual Conference, Mountains of Opportunity: Building and Innovation in Housing, highlighted the critical issues shaping Colorado’s housing landscape. Over two days, attendees explored themes ranging from the 2025 legislative session and innovative public-private partnership models to building community through deed restrictions and addressing unconscious bias. Sessions also focused on practical tools, such as housing needs assessments tied to Proposition 123 and SB24-174, new grant funding opportunities, and strategies for capacity building and insuring affordable housing initiatives. Together, these discussions underscored the innovative spirit and collaborative solutions needed to meet the housing challenges of rural and mountain communities across the state.


2023 Conference Schedule

April 17th-18th, 2023

The 2023 CMHC Annual Conference centered on the evolving dynamics of housing in Colorado’s rural and mountain communities, offering both policy insights and practical tools. Sessions included updates on USDA loans and project financing for rural areas, demographic shifts in mountain towns, and panel discussions on aligning housing programs with community needs. A highlight was the deep dive into Proposition 123, exploring new financing opportunities and implementation strategies. Attendees also engaged in hands-on discussions about passing local housing ballot measures, LIHTC program updates from CHFA, and building effective multijurisdictional housing partnerships. This conference underscored the importance of collaboration across regions and sectors to meet Colorado’s pressing housing challenges.


2024 Conference Schedule

April 15th-16th, 2024

Our 2024 Annual Conference brought together housing leaders from across Colorado for two days of networking, learning, and strategy-building. The event opened with a member meeting and welcome reception, followed by two full days of programming. Key sessions included legislative updates and insurance issues, affordable homeownership strategies, and innovative tools such as Shared Equity Deed Restrictions and Passive House Prefab models. Attendees also explored the human side of housing through panels on empathy in action, inclusion of Latin voices in housing policy, and partnerships with funders and community organizations. The conference concluded with forward-looking sessions on innovative approaches to housing stability and strategies to strengthen connections across the sector. Together, these conversations highlighted both the pressing challenges and the creative solutions shaping the future of housing in Colorado’s rural and mountain communities.
